Hey guys, congratulations to everyone that raced this weekend. I'll sum up mine real quick. Nelson Ledges has an awesome track layout. It's fast flowing and fun. The pavement SUCKS and so does the run-off. Not a place you want to crash. I used the solo races as practice and got top 15 in the expert 600 and 1000 races on my 600. Not bad since Kawasaki, Yamaha, and Suzuki were paying big contingencies. HWT SB was a pretty easy win. I ran 1:13 lap times since there was nobody challenging me in that race. I had done a 1:12 in practice but knew that Scott Sheehan could do 1:10's on his RC51 for the HWT SS race. I didn't think I was going to be able to step up my game but I did. He pulled me around and we checked out from the rest of the field by 30 seconds. I was able to see where I was stronger and I made my move into 1st. He was right on my butt for 2 laps and then all the sudden he was gone. He had crashed in the 140mph kink. I slowed down the pace and brought her home safely. Turns out I was turning 1:10's. I was stoked since the fast AMA guys were doing 1:08's. My Ducati felt awesome! I sorted the suspension so that the bike could absorb all the bumps and still hold a line around some of these neck braking 270 degree fast turns. Unfortunately, I haven't grasped the concept of "quit while you're ahead". I entered the 750 SS race on my 600 and lost the front end overzealously working my way through the pack. I'm okay but my 600 is pretty destroyed. Anyways, that's what happened at Nelson. Jason did really well and will have some good news for you guys as well. Later
